Health Check^TM is a national information program about food developed by the Heart and Stroke Foundation. It helps shoppers quickly pinpoint healthy choices among the products available in grocery stores. In addition to featuring the Health Check^TM symbol, products that are part of the program have an explanatory message and table with their nutritional value. The Health Check^TM symbol on packages shows that the Foundation’s dieticians have evaluated the nutritional content of the product to ensure that it meets the criteria developed by the Health Check^TM program, based on the recommendations of the Canada Food Guide.

ACTI-MENU helped develop this program as a consultant for the Heart and Stroke Foundation on technical factors such as how to establish and update criteria, the acceptance process for products, etc.
