bullet The Quit to Win! Challenge
logo DTThe Quit to Win! Challenge is a positive motivational campaign that encourages smokers to take the plunge and butt out! The Challenge encourages everyone to quit on their own terms so that they have a better chance of not smoking for six weeks (March 1 to April 11). Participants can register on their own, with a non-smoking sponsor, or with a fellow smoker who also wants to quit. Free support is available in a variety of forms before, during, and after the Challenge. Since 2000, more than 315,000 people have participated in the Challenge. Of that number, according to various surveys carried out, on average 2 participants out of 3 successfully succeeded in not smoking for the 6 weeks. This is an excellent success rate for this type of campaign.

bullet 5/30 Health and Wellness Challenge
logo DSEvery year since 2005, the 5/30 Health and Wellness Challenge invites Quebecers to take an active role in their health. It’s a fun way for participants to take concrete steps toward improving their health and lifestyle. Participants set the following goals for 6 weeks, from March 1 to April 11: eating better, getting more active and taking care of themselves! They can take up the Health Challenge alone, as a family or as part of a team with friends or colleagues. With more than 700,000 participants since 2005, more than 200 municipalities, and hundreds of workplaces encouraging people to take part every year, the Health Challenge is the annual, one-of-a-kind movement for good health in Quebec!

bullet Smoke-Free Family
logoThe Smoke-Free Family awareness campaign educates the public about the health dangers of second-hand smoke, particularly for children. This campaign is particularly relevant in Quebec where 9% of children aged 11 years and under are regularly exposed to second-hand smoke—more than twice the amount for the rest of Canada (4%). By way of educational and awareness-raising activities, Smoke-Free Family invites all Quebecers to protect children from exposure to second-hand smoke, telling them: “For the health of children, thank you for smoking outside.”
