The 5/30 Health and Wellness Challenge
Eat better, get more active, take care of yourself!
Every year since 2005, the 5/30 Health and Wellness Challenge invites Quebecers to take an active role in their health. It’s a fun way for participants to take concrete steps ward improving their health and lifestyle. The message is simple: eat better, get more active, take care of yourself, and get energized! The Health Challenge takes a global approach to health, emphasizing the importance of physical and mental health so that participants feel good about their bodies and their minds.
5/30 Health and Wellness Challenge participants set the following goals for 6 weeks, from March 1 to April 11: 5 Goal (eating at least 5 servings of fruit and vegetables a day), 30 Goal (doing at least 30 minutes of physical activity a day), and one of two Wellness goals.
Whether they take up the Health Challenge alone, as a family or as part of a team with friends or colleagues, participants get free support during the Health Challenge through: the Health Challenge Passport available exclusively at IGA, the 30mobile app for TELUS smartphones, our new website (HealthChallenge.ca), motivational emails, and our Facebook page . Also, the Healthy Home quiz gives parents strategies to help their family succeed in the Health Challenge.
Register online at HealthChallenge.ca by March 1. All registered participants are entered to win a number of prizes totalling more than $20,000!
With more than 700,000 participants since 2005, more than 200 municipalities, and hundreds of workplaces encouraging people to take part every year, the Health Challenge is the annual, one-of-a-kind movement for good health in Quebec!
The Health Challenge is an ACTI-MENU initiative, with the support of Québec en Forme and in partnership with Quebec’s Directions de santé publique des Agences de la santé et des services sociaux, the Quebec government (the Ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux; the Ministère de l’Éducation, des Loisirs et du Sport; and the Ministère des Affaires municipales, des Régions et de l’Occupation du territoire), the Canadian Cancer Society, and the Prends soin de toi program.
